On a day like any other, Madame Carmen, the tenant of a country brothel, prepares to receive clients and organise the work of her girls. But what she has not foreseen is a series of mishaps that will turn her day into a delirium: the arrival of the brother of one of the girls, seduced and abandoned; a shy client who desperately wants to marry a prostitute; a father trying to refresh the ideas of a son in love with a girl he has only seen in passing; a curate obsessed with exorcisms; a bigot who sees the devil everywhere and a mayor who doesn’t know whose side to take.
